We give our thanks to all of you who participated in this photo contest. We had asked you to submit photos that illustrated a facet of the Ignatian world, and we got what we asked for. The more than 300 photos you sent in came from all across and also beyond the United States. Each picture that arrived via envelope or e-mail was to us another pair of eyes, a personal view down a different avenue of that world, letting us know what you considered important, interesting, fun, dramatic, and poignant in your part of that world. The whole process was a wonderful avenue of communication between reader and magazine and then, via these next pages, back out to all our readers.
First-place winners, amateur and professional, will both receive $250, those in second place take the $100 prizes, third placers are richer by $50, and all the honorable mentions will receive $25. Please save us a copy of that next great shot taken at your Jesuit parish or alumni gathering or track meet. We plan to host photo contests every two years, so our next contest's results will be published in our Summer 2004 issue. You know how quickly time flies.
