Karl Chartier New Bedford, Massachusetts Karl, 25, with a degree in architecture from Northeastern University in Boston, was an architectural assistant with four firms in the Boston area. He spent a semester in Italy and did volunteer work, including preparing lunches and washing dishes for homeless people, at St. Francis House in Boston. Kevin Cormier Fredericton, Canada Kevin, 25, studied math and chemistry at the University of British Columbia, spent two years at a house of discernment in Rome, and then received a BA in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University there. He worked with the Missionaries of Charity Fathers in Tijuana and has volunteered at a nursing home and a soup kitchen. He enjoys track and cross-country and English and French literature. Shane Courville Duson, Louisiana Shane, 24, graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a BA in music, majoring in performance on trumpet. He volunteered as a Hate Crimes Project phone counselor and taught summer Bible school and CCD classes. Gregory Demo Spring Valley, Minnesota Greg, 23, has a BA from Marquette University, where he studied political philosophy, German, and Greek. He worked with a priest in Kankakee, Illinois, ministering to Hispanics, teaching English, and tutoring. He spent two months this past summer in Freiburg, German. Manh Do Bienn Hoa, Vietnam Manh, 29, has a BS in chemistry and an MS in computer information systems from Southern University in New Orleans and an MS in math from the University of Texas where he was a teaching assistant. Patrick Gilday Cleveland Patrick, 28 has been a campus minister at Le Moyne College for the past two years. After earning a BA in political science from John Carroll University and an MA in theology from Weston Jesuit School of Theology he served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Syracuse for a year and spent summers working for the Jesuit Family Retreat Program of the Maryland Province. He participated in service learning programs in Nicaragua and Mexico and studied in Florence. He also taught math and coached baseball at Nativity Prep in Boston. During college he was a laboratory research assistant. He was also involved in retreat work and peer counseling, and he served on committees for housing and university relations. He has traveled in Europe and has worked with poor people in the state of Tabasco, Mexico. Trevor Meyer North Canton, Ohio Trevor, 25, was a hospital corpsman in the navy and worked in the department of neurosurgery at the naval hospital in Okinawa, Japan. While studying philosophy at Walsh University in Canton, Ohio, he traveled to Honduras and volunteered at missions in the country. He has been playing drums for over 20 years and is a big fan of Marx Brothers movies. (Detroit Province)

He has been a guest service agent for Best Western and a flight attendant for Sky Service Airlines. A longtime student of Gaelic, he has participated in Irish immersion language weekends. Sean Mullen Jacksonville, Texas Sean, 26, graduated from Jesuit College Prep in Dallas and attended Texas A&M. He learned Spanish in Mexico, where he owned a restaurant. As part owner of a pool hall in Dallas, he was bartender, cook, waiter, and general manager. He volunteered at a women's shelter and a soup kitchen. William Noe Racine, Wisconsin William, 33, has a bachelor's and master's in electrical engineering from Purdue University and was studying theology at Washington Theological Union. Nathan Wendt Cleveland Nathan, 24, attended St. Ignatius High in Cleveland and earned a BA in public relations from Marquette University. He worked in public relations for a marketing firm and as a promotions director for a radio station. He has volunteered at a literacy center, a hospice, and at a Nativity Jesuit Middle School camp. Steven White Spokane Stephen, 20, graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 2001 and then volunteered as a deckhand on the Caribbean Mercy, a hospital ship providing free glasses and eye surgery to people in Central America.
