I H S - Newcomers 2008

THEY GREW UP far apart from each other, have very different backgrounds, have attended many different schools, and their interests and experiences are all over the board—but those who joined the Society of Jesus in the United States this year have one thing in common: a desire to put their many talents to the service of Jesus, the Church, and others.

They have settled into novitiates across the country and will be learning about each other, the Society, and themselves as the months go on. They’ll be making the Spiritual Exercises this year as one of their first steps on the path of their new career as Jesuits. On these pages are about half of those who joined the Jesuits in the United States this fall; Company’s winter issue will contain the rest. Please keep them all in your prayers and thoughts as they begin living out their vocations in the Society of Jesus.
